I was again privileged to work with internationally acclaimed Artist and Sculptor Maarten Schaddelee. The last time we had collaborated on an artistic project was around 2018. Continue reading…. or jump to Marble Sculptures or Wood Sculptures.
“Maarten is a sculptor who expresses his deep passion for life through his fine art. His enthusiasm bursts through his work, which depicts the beauty of our West Coast environment and our co-existence with nature.”
Maarten Schaddelee, Sculptor

The Art
Sculpting elements of the natural world with amazing flowing detail is Maartenโs art. There are so many more beautiful sculptures in the gallery to see, begin your visit to Maarten’s site with, for an idea of his style.

Working with Maarten
Working together with Maarten is an experience, he is greatly focused to the task on hand, moving with the greatest efficiency possible. Like a baker making bread for the whole town with no time to waste. The benefits of that generally include taking lots of photos of his amazing sculptures of marble and wood in the most efficient way possible. Maarten is very clear on what he wants and is very organized, there is never any of the “ah…what’s next…” routine to slow you down. This time was a perfect example of that focusing on the task. It is my pleasure to work with Maarten, he is a tremendously talented artist and fun to be around.
The Project
The new project initially, was to give the website a face lift, but, since the last update was…. a long time ago, and in a technological reference, I mean prehistoric. (I made it the old one – hahaha – so how old am I) The site had served well in its day, but, technology marches on, static websites becomes ‘dusty old static websites’ pretty quickly. Modernizing the site with the functions that provide fluidity to multiple platforms was the goal. The old site contained over 100 old .html pages, most pages not currently relevant and the pages that were needing code level editing to move forward. Knowing that we had lots of tedious button pushing ahead it was decided the easiest way to reach our goal of modernization now was to start a new site. Create an entirely fresh website from scratch. So the facelift became an overhaul. In the planning community that type of discovery is called ‘an arising’, that is if you’re a planner scheduler or tracker…..
Have a look at Maarten’s refreshed website home page or read more in Maarten’s Bio and of course there is Beautiful Art In The Gallery for a tease of the sculptures. Like the website says…. Seeing is believing, touching is transforming.
